I love Boris Bally's recycled metal street sign objects and now I see he has furniture as well--like this one of a kind transit chair (#139). Edges are filed smooth and rounded to provide comfort. And, for the do-it-yourself crowd, this is the perfect project because assembly is required, tools and instructions provided. 48 in. high x 16 in. wide x 21 in. deep.

Banana leaf is a renewable resource and Austrian-based Lars Bambussen Design has taken advantage of this versatile material to create elegant furniture reminiscent of the mod designs from the 1970s. Looks like there's a bit of Art Nouveau influence in there as well.

I am amazed at how many objects can be created using discarded and recycled traffic signs, including this light switch plate from one of my favorite stoes Eco-Artware. I just love the bold, graphic black and white color and the funky shape. It kind of reminds me of those old oval-shaped doorknobs used in many homes built circa 1910 and 1920s.
